
Cleveland Fire Fighters Hockey Fest • February 16, 2023

Hockey Helping Heroes partnered with the Cleveland Firefighters Hockey team and the IAFF Local 93 for the inaugural Hockey Fest & Conference. The event was held to raise money for the family of Cleveland Fire Fighter Johnny Tetrick and 18 other families across Ohio and Michigan. Teams that participated include Euclid Fire Hockey, Lorian Fire Hockey, Toledo Fire Hockey, Columbus Fire Hockey, Pittsburgh Fire Hockey, Toledo Police Hockey, Dayton Fire Hockey, Detroit Fire Hockey and Cincinnati/Indian Hill Rangers. Columbus Fire & Police Hockey hosts FDNY
November 10, 2022 – Nationwide Arena
A combined Columbus Fire & Columbus Police hockey team battled New York’s Battalion 15 North Bronx hockey team during an informal “friendly” on Nov. 10, 2022 at Nationwide Arena. The Bronx firefighters were in town to attend the Blue Jackets vs Philly Flyers match later in the evening.







































































Inaugural Deputy Matthew Yates Memorial Classic
October 8, 2022 • NTRPD Chiller in Springfield, Ohio
Dayton Fire 9 – FOP 109 Warthogs 3
Hockey Helping Heroes partnered with the Dayton Fire Hockey team and the FOP 109 Warthogs from Bowling Green in a matchup benefiting the Deputy Matthew Yates Memorial Scholarship. Yates of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office was fatally injured in the line of duty on July 24, 2022. The scholarship is held at Clark State Community College and will benefit students who wish to pursue careers in law enforcement.
Inaugural Officer Dominic Francis Memorial Classic
May 6, 2022 – The Cube Ice Arena in Findlay, Ohio
Toledo Police 3 – FOP 109 Warthogs 2
Hockey Helping Heroes partnered with the Fort Findlay FOP #20 and the Wood County FOP #109, along with the FOP 109 Warthogs and the Toledo Police Hockey team. The charity game honored Officer Dominic Francis of the Bluffton Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on March 31, 2022. All proceeds were donated to the Francis Family. Inaugural Officer Scott R Dawley Memorial Classic
March 27, 2022 – Bird Arena, Athens, Ohio
Ohio University 4 – Columbus Police & Fire 3
Columbus Police & Fire combined teams to take on the Ohio University Bobcat Alumni team in a charity game benefiting the Officer Scott R Dawley Memorial Scholarship. Nelsonville Officer Scott Dawley was fatally injured last summer in a traffic crash while responding to a shots fired call. Proceeds from the game benefited his Memorial Scholarship Fund. Inaugural Heroes & Legends Game
March 6, 2022 – Chiller North
Columbus Fire 8 – Columbus Police 6
The CFD & CPD teams mixed things up on the ice by drafting former professional hockey players to their teams in the annual Face-Off. Players from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Chill, Ohio State Hockey, Columbus Owls and Columbus Seals rounded out the teams and coaching staff in front of a sold out crowd. Proceeds from the game were raised for NC4K in support of families and the children fighting pediatric cancer, ensuring that
No Kid Fights Cancer Alone.

Toledo Memorial Classic

Toledo Police 1 – Columbus Police 1
Toledo Police and Columbus Police & Fire faced off in the inaugural Toledo Memorial Classic, a game to honor the service and sacrifice of Toledo Officer Anthony Dia and Officer Brandon Stalker. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost was on hand to drop the puck. The game was hosted by the Toledo Walleye with all proceeds going to the TPD Fallen Officer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
