The Force Network Fund is an extention of charitable work created by Cam Atkinson of the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets in support of Military and First Responders.
We research the best military and first responder charitable organizations and hand select our 13. This approach allows the donor a level of trust that his/her donation will be properly used. Donations can be self-directed through Force Network to one of the thirteen foundations or directed to Force Network and FNF will direct to one or more of the thirteen FNF foundations.

OSU CCC – The James Cancer Hospital
At The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), our vision is to create a cancer-free world, one person, one discovery at a time. This underlies everything we do in working to eradicate cancer through research that translates to innovative and highly targeted patient care.
The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)–designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities.
Cancer is no longer defined solely by stage and location, but rather by its biologic and genetic makeup. There is no routine cancer — it is different in each person. Working together and utilizing state-of-the-art facilities and technology, clinicians and researchers at Ohio State are speeding the development and delivery of treatments that target the molecules and markers fueling each person’s unique cancer.
Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation
The IFCF’s Founder, Cindy Ell is a retired fire-fighter/Critical Care Paramedic originally from Anne Arundel County MD, with a background in emergency communications and investigations. After a cancer cluster occurred among the firefighters with which she served in Maryland, Cindy began researching and tracking firefighter occupational exposures and cancer. As a result of her findings, The Firefighter Cancer Foundation was launched in 2004.
Unfortunately, Cindy did not miss the bullet. Cancer struck her as well in 2005 and she was reminded of the importance of strong support system and the value of an organization to provide timely resources and guidance. Her efforts resulted in a strong collaboration of peers and professionals who provide their stricken member with anything from personalized needs assessment to resource navigation, advocacy empowerment, disease information, insurance assistance, drug trial registration and support to the family and fire department, etc.
Today with the support of regional representatives, state chapters, Australia and international research partners, the IFCF continues its work to extinguish firefighter cancer throughout the world by providing educational programs, resources and research that have been driving positive changes in the health and safety of the emergency responder community. For additional information on programs and services or to donate, please visit the IFCF website or IFCF on Facebook.
